The licensing of CCTV monitoring stations comes into effect from the 1st November 2014.  From that date all contractors providing monitoring of CCTV will requiure a license to operate in this sector.

ISIA member, NOONAN, has significantly increased its presence in Northern Ireland by creating and securing almost 300 jobs. 

An Irish-owned company which has its Northern Ireland headquarters in Lisburn, employs more than 7,000 people across Ireland in a range of positions. The firm also has multiple sites across Northern Ireland and this new jobs figure brings the total number of employees in Northern Ireland to 1,012.

The Private Security Authority (PSA) has announced reductions in contractor licesne fees. The reductions in fees are across a range of areas including a reduction of 55% for new businesses starting up in the security industry and a 45% reduction for contractors whose turnover is €300,000 or less.

Niall Feely, MD of G4S Secure Solutions (Ireland) Ltd, was elected as Vice President of the Irish Security Industry Association (ISIA) at last week's Annual General Meeting.  Feely brings a wealth of experience to the leadership of the ISIA as MD of a member company that crosses over four of the ISIA's eight representative divisions.

The members of the Irish Security Industry Association (ISIA) elected its first female President, Sheenagh McCullagh, yesterday at its Annual General Meeting in Croke Park.  Sheenagh has been involved in the ISIA for over six years and will be the 22nd President of the ISIA since its formation in 1972.  McCullagh is head of human resources for electronic security and systems provider, Stanley Security Solutions.

It has been a busy year in the private security industry and within the Irish Security Industry Association. We are delighted to have welcomed many new members and to have seen our members elect several new leaders.

The Irish Security Industry Association (ISIA) hosted the ISIA Awards and 50th Anniversary Celebration on Saturday 10th November at the Ritz Carlton Hotel.  The awards were attended by over 250 individuals from the private security industry, suppliers to the industry and security managers from a variety of industries.  Also in attendance were members of the Private Security Authority, An Garda Síochána, FÁS and the Dublin Fire Brigade.

From today there are a number of changes to the requirements for those installing, maintaining and repairing CCTV and Access Control Systems. From today, the 1st October 2012, those companies or sole traders who install and maintain CCTV and Access Control security systems must hold a private security services license from the Private Security Authority.
