The ISIA Annual Awards 2009 took place on 18th November 2009 in the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Santry, Dublin 9.
Anna May McHugh, the driving force behind the National Ploughing Championship since 1973, was presented with the Irish Security Industry Association (ISIA) Premier Award at the annual awards ceremony in Dublin today. She follows in the footsteps of previous winners, which include John Hume, Fr Aidan Troy and Bertie Ahern. Alan Jordan, President of the ISIA said today, “Anna May McHugh is one of the nations heroes. She organises the biggest, best and most diversified event in Ireland every year and adds real value and excitement to people’s lives, all around the country. She is a most deserving winner of our Premier Award”.
This honour has been awarded to a diverse range of people and groups who have served or represented Ireland and her people with dedicated devotion and selfless commitment. A selection of the recipients in recent years included:
