ISIA Appoints new Communications Director

24.03.11 Barry Brady, Executive Director

Barry Brady, Executive Director of The Irish Security Industry Association for over 14 years will be retiring on 31 March. The Association in seeking his replacement focused on someone who would continue to develop the Association on two fronts;

• Increasing awareness of the ISIA and placing it as the only voice of the industry in Ireland

• To drive membership growth and value

257 candidates responded to the recruitment campaign and the Association is delighted to announce the appointment of Sarah O’Donnell as Communications Director.

Sarah has an excellent marketing background having graduated with a BA in Behavioural Science (Psychology), a Graduate Diploma in Business Studies and recently distinguished herself with a MSc in Marketing (Executive) acheiving a 1:1.

She was Marketing and Business Development Manager with Certification Europe from 2003 until joining ISIA. In her role in Certification Europe she was responsible for driving the growth of its client base from the early days of it's foundation and then focused specifically on driving the growth of their premium lines, particularlly in the areas of Information Security & IT Service Management in both Irish and International Markets.

Sarah will now work very closely with the ISIA Council of Management to develop a programme of communications and public affairs activities for the Association. The main aim would be to:

• Build the ISIA brand and raise awareness of the organisation among key stakeholders in the private security industry, Government, media, and general public;
• Emphasise the quality and standards to which ISIA members adhere;
• Communicate the benefits of ISIA membership to attract new members;
• Make the ISIA the clear and authoritative voice for the private security services sector in Ireland.

The ISIA is a long established and reputable Association, representing 75% of the marketplace in terms of turnover and 60% of the security industry employees. The Association covers the full range of security services, Guarding Services, Event Security, Door Supervision, CIT, Systems installations, Monitoring, Gates/Locks/Safes and Security Consultants. The Association members have to adhere to high standards in meeting the characteristics of Qualsec, a unique platform for training, business practice and professionalism.
