R.A.S Group Merges with McElwaine Security Services

25th April 2017

It was announced today that Dublin based ISIA member, R.A.S Group, has merged with McElwaine Security Services.  With offices in Belfast and Lisnaskea, McElwaine Security have been in growth mode and saw their turnover increase by 30% in the previous year.  The merger will also see staffing levels increase and immediate recuritment is planned for the Dublin office.

McElwaine Security view the office in Dublin as a "growth hub".  Jason McElwaine, Managing Director of McElwaine Security, stated that "we admire the talent, integrity and high skill levels that R.A.S Group management and staff bring.  This merger creates a compelling new mix of services, experience and expertise in the specialist electronic security sector".

When commenting on the role of R.A.S Group in this newly established partnership, Martin Stairs, Managing Director, R.A.S Group pointed out that "R.A.S Group is known for its thoroughness, strength and reliability in providing a complete end to end service through one point of contact. Stairs stated that working together allows the two companies to gain even greater understanding in "core operational strengths" such as "consulting, design installation, commissioning, monitoring and on going site management".

A BREXIT OPPORTUNITY?

McElwaine pointed out that "BREXIT was a consideration, but not the deciding factor".  Both parties are engaged in contracts with a diverse client base, including multinational clients and public sector organisations.  In the wake of BREXIT Stairs points out that "new cross-border compliance, regulatory and transactional issues may emerge, but we can better meet these challenges as one company and with fibre connections there is no limit to our potential together".  The merger has been highlighted as demonstrating a commitment to growth across Ireland and Europe. The company highlighted their interest in the National Apprenticeship System and the opportunities this offers them, McElwaine wants to "explore how we can contribute to it and continue to build the R.A.S commitment to training and service excellence".

The Irish Security Industry Association would like to congratulate its member R.A.S Group on this merger and looks forward to a continued relationship with the broader McElwaine Security R.A.S Group.
