NOONAN, the leading provider of strategically outsourced services, has signed an agreement to acquire the ‘Security Services Division’ of Brinks in Ireland.

The acquisition is subject to approval from the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission of Ireland.

The acquisition of the Brinks Ireland Security Services division, which provides Manned Guarding, Electronics, Key Holding and Monitoring services, follows Brinks strategic decision to exit these non-core services in Ireland.  Brinks Ireland will continue to focus on its Cash-In-Transit business which does not form part of the agreement with NOONAN.

As part of the acquisition over 300 Brinks employees will transfer to Noonan on December 1st 2015, ensuring continuity of service for all of its existing clients.

NOONAN is a leading provider of strategically outsourced services in Ireland and the UK and currently employs over 14,000 people.

Commenting on the acquisition, John O’Donoghue, CEO of Noonan, said: “We are pleased to be in a position to acquire the business and operations of the Brinks Security Services Division in Ireland. Our immediate priority is to ensure a smooth transition for existing clients and employees and we look forward to working with them all in the coming years.”

“We have ambitious plans to grow and invest in the NOONAN business in the coming years and today’s announcement is another important milestone in that regard.”

The acquisition of the Brinks Security Services Division in Ireland follows NOONAN’s successful acquisition of the business and operations of the Resource Group in September 2014, which saw 6,000 employees transfer to NOONAN.
